Excellent Feeder, No Problems!!Sep 07, 2010 I purchased a pair of these feeders for my mom and so far she loves them and so do the birds. They are easy to take apart and fill with liquid and are also pretty easy to clean by just taking them apart and rinsing them off with some hot water.
The only possible issue that I can see with this feeder is that the top part that has the hanger attached is not attached to the glass very securely, at least in my opinion. I can see it coming off if it were ever in some high winds or was pull on very forcefully.
Otherwise I would gladly recommend this feeder to anyone looking for a good priced, high quality hummingbird feeder.
best everSep 05, 2010 I have been putting hummingbird feeders out for years, this is the best one. Recently I also changed to use just a mixture of sugar and water (ratio 1:4) instead of commercially-bought coloring-laced nectar. The new feeder and the new homemade mixture suddenly draw many hummingbirds to my backyard.
Perfect!Aug 27, 2010 I hadn't put out a feeder for several years, but a little green hummer kept bopping over the the patio this past week whenever I was outside. He'd hover and dart around the chimes and lights, making it obvious that he was looking for a feeder.
So ... I ordered two of these because I wanted some that were small, affordable and had a bee guard.
Thanks to Amazon, they arrived very fast and my little hummingbird has already found it.
He's happy and I'm no longer feeling guilty.
These are easy to fill and just the size I wanted.
Humingbird feeder reviewAug 27, 2010 Seems well made and works fine. Smaller capacity (8 oz) allows more frequent changing so the sugar water does not go bad between fillings. We have at least four Ruby throated hummers coming to it within two hours when we put it up at our northern MN lake home. The humming birds take three or four days to empty it.
Popular Little FeederAug 17, 2010 This is a popular feeder in the backyard, its always busy and hummers seem to prefer it over other types.
One thing I did do was, I painted the bee guards white to minimize the bee and hornet activity around the feeder. I was not sure if it would actually be effective, but to my surprise there are virtually no bees around.
Some people complained about too many parts and that's it hard to clean, I've had no such issue, I just disassemble wash with soapy water then rinse, I do this once per week and it seems to stay relatively clean.
