Description:

The Yankee Tipper collapsible mechanical feeding tray is weight-activated using a patented Droll Yankees design. Song birds can eat, but a squirrel?s weight on the seed tray causes it to tip down. 21" long tubular feeder with 5 lb seed capacity. Sturdy stainless steel wire hanger will not rust. Metal cap fits snugly so that squirrels cannot pry it off. 4-1/2" diameter seed tube is made of UV stabilized polycarbonate for durability and holds about 4 quarts of seed. Tube is long enough so that squirrels can?t hang down from the top and reach seed. Interior is properly baffled to direct seed to the seed ports. Four seed ports are positioned around the tube. Metal parts have a midnight black finish.

4works but...Jul 03, 2010
I love the feeder~it holds a lot of seed and the squirrels cannot eat from it~~but the birds are not that crazy about it.I put black sunflower seeds in it and they just pick at it and then really mob the one that is not squirrel proof! Maybe it just takes more time to get use to it. Anyone have comments or advice?

5Really squirrel-proof!Feb 06, 2010
This is my second Droll Yankee feeder and both are truly squirrel-proof. I would highly recommend this product if you have any issues with squirrels at your feeders.

5Squirrels have left!Aug 18, 2009
Our previous bird feeder, despite cones and shields on the pole, always had 5 to 8 squirrels -- crowding out the birds. Now we enjoy birds only -- all squirrels have left! Also, the large capacity means I only fill it every 3 to 4 days. I plan to buys another one for a different part of the yard. The only drawback is the price -- a lot to pay for a bird feeder.

5Very fast serviceJul 09, 2009
The feeder arrived very quickly which was really nice: the durn squirrels were breaking me.

4Dang gum squirrelsJul 04, 2009
Well. I haven't tried all the "squirrel-proof" feeders, and this one won't qualify, but it makes the little buggers work for their calories. It's the cleanest feeder with a seed tray I've ever used. In fact this feeder is overall easy to clean and easy to fill. My only complaint (and this is tongue in cheek) is that my pesky raccoon with his 'coon IQ of 180 managed to unscrew the washer that holds the tray on. The birds didn't like the absence of the tray, but they adapted, hanging on the ports to feed. The raccon went hungry.
