lovely feeder, easy to use, and not bad to look atJan 11, 2010 got this feeder after much research, and couldn't be happier. this is the only hummingbird feeder i've used (so i have no 1st hand comparrison), but i'm happy enough with this one that i've bought 2 more to give as gifts!
i hate the look of the cheap plastic flowers and the opaque red plastic tops they usually use for feeders, so this one got my attention for the classier look/ feel. it looks great in person, and though it is made of plastic, it has nice lines and an attractive finish.
it also lives up to its reputation in functionality and ease of use. haven't had any problems with ants or bees/ wasps, no spillage, the hummers seem to like it (we have anna's here), and we get a great view of them both flying and perching to drink. the clear plastic bottom allows us to see the ripples when they drink, which i think is uber cool. solidly built, easy to take apart and clean regularly.
make your own syrup with 1/4 cup white sugar to 1 cup water, easy as pie!

Ports too smallOct 06, 2009 It's a great hummingbird feeder in many respects but only about half of the local hummingbirds (SF Bay Area) like it. I think it's because the feeder ports are too small, so they're worried their beaks will get stuck. The feeder ports are lozenge-shaped rather than circular. That's probably why the rain doesn't get into the syrup. If your guests are mostly smaller hummingbirds, you'll probably be OK.
I'm considering my options: putting up the ugly old, ant-attracting Perky Pets, taking a file to the holes on the Hummzinger or maybe trying a Droll Yankees' feeder.
Hummzinger Fancy Hummingbird FeederAug 11, 2009 I like this hummzinger feeder. I love the big red cover that attracts the hummingbirds. I have had many different feeders through the years, and this is one of my favorites. On one of my other feeders, the red color has faded to a pale red or pink color. I doubt that this one will fade because of the materials that the feeder is made of. The only complaint that I have is that it is difficult to separate the top from the bottom. I would buy this product again.
Aspects 381 Hummzinger Fancy Hummingbird FeederAug 11, 2009 This is my second feeder and I love it for the ease of use. This one was a b-day present for a friend. Easy to fill and clean and the little hummers love it.

HummzingerAug 01, 2009 I like the way it disassembles for cleaning and cleaning is not very difficult since it is dishwasher safe.
Since I am new to the hummingbird feeding scene I wasn't aware that the feeder needed cleaned so often. The other down side is that there have not been too many visitors to the feeder. That may be due to my location (suburb of Pittsburgh). Or it could be that the feeder is down once every 4 days for cleaning. So, it's not there consistently enough for the birds.
